On offshore platforms and ships, we ensure the entire on-board power supply and thus also operation. This applies to all critical components, including the engine and drive – e.g. through UPS systems for emergency diesel engines.
In the onshore and offshore industry in particular, all components must be optimally coordinated to ensure that consumers are supplied with maximum safety. The high availability provided by the redundant dual system with diode coupling has already been used in many different applications and has proven itself in problematic conditions. We achieve a further increase in operational reliability by using the step-up converter, which ensures a constant voltage supply.
This also means that any disturbance variables such as DC-side undervoltage are controlled. Overvoltages are also attenuated and selectivity (timely tripping of the fuses) is taken into account.
